Shackleton's Compass

shackleton compass.jpg We have been lucky enough to have had two leaving party's before the team head out to Antarctica later this month - both at Matrix's Headquarters on Vine Street, just off Regent Street in Central London.

This week we thanked all our friends and family who have helped us get this far. We were also fortunate enough to hear our Fundraising Patron; Robert Swan give a short speech and also give Henry Worsley the teddy bear that he had carried with him in Antarctica.

Alexandra Shackleton, grandaughter of Sir Ernest, also presented Henry Worsley with Shackleton's compass that he carried on the original 1908 expedition. Henry will now carry this compass to the South Pole, a journey that it failed to complete in 1908-9.
